Committee for Technology Transfer, Innovation & Start-up Entrepreneurship

The Committee for Technology Transfer, Innovation & Start-up Entrepreneurship is an advisory body of the Democritus University of Thrace (DUTH), established by Decision No. 36/31/10-10-2024 of the University’s Governing Council. Its mission is the continuous monitoring of issues related to technology transfer, innovation, and the connection of DUTH and its academic community with society and the economy, as well as the formulation of policy proposals in these areas. The Committee consists of eight (8) members. Members may include faculty, Special Teaching Staff, Laboratory Teaching Staff, or Visiting Professors and Researchers of DUTH, with expertise or experience in matters related to technology transfer, innovation, and start-up entrepreneurship. The Head of the Technology Transfer and Innovation Unit also participates in the Committee meetings as a non-voting member. The Committee's role is to submit proposals to the Rector of DUTH or the relevant Vice-Rector, depending on the matter, regarding issues of technology transfer, innovation, and the university's engagement with society and the economy. The Committee has a two-year term.   The Committee’s operations and responsibilities are described in the Internal Regulation of DUTH (Article 214).
