Committee for Equal Access of Disabled Persons and Persons with Special Educational Needs

The Committee for Equal Access of Disabled Persons and Persons with Special Educational Needs is an advisory body of the Democritus University of Thrace (DUTH). Its mission is to submit recommendations to the competent authorities for the development and implementation of policies ensuring equal access for disabled persons and individuals with special educational needs. The Committee is composed of nine members. It was established by Decision No. 6/6/27-4-2023 of the DUTH Governing Council and includes five (5) faculty members from different schools of the university—preferably individuals with disabilities or those with relevant expertise or experience in issues of equal access for disabled persons and those with special educational needs. Additional members include the Head of the Equal Access Unit, the Head of the Technical Services Directorate of DUTH, one (1) student representative—preferably a student with a disability—and the Head of the DUTH Centre for Teaching and Learning Support (KEDIMA-DUTH).
