Digital Governance Committee

The Digital Governance Committee is an advisory body of the Democritus University of Thrace (DUTH). It was established by Decision No. 26/30/05-09-2024 of the University’s Governing Council and is tasked with the continuous monitoring of matters related to digital governance, the utilisation of information and communication technologies, and the simplification of procedures within both DUTH and the Special Account for Research Funds.

The Committee’s role is to submit recommendations to the Rector of DUTH or the relevant Vice-Rector, as applicable, for the formulation of the university’s strategy on information technologies, communications, and digital governance.

In fulfilling its responsibilities, the Committee collaborates with heads of academic units, programme coordinators, the Centre for Teaching and Learning Support, the Centre for Continuing Education and Lifelong Learning and all relevant public bodies.

The Committee consists of five (5) members drawn from the academic and scientific staff (faculty, special teaching staff, laboratory or technical personnel) with expertise or experience in information technology and digital governance, along with the Executive Director of DUTH. The Head of the Digital Governance Unit and the Head of the Quality Assurance Unit also attend the Committee’s meetings without voting rights.
