Sustainable Development Committee
The Sustainable Development Committee is an advisory body of Democritus University of Thrace (DUTH), established by Decision No. 13/11/31-08-2023 of the Governing Council. Its mission is the continuous monitoring of issues related to sustainable development and the formulation of proposals for policy-making in its field of expertise. The Committee consists of five (5) members of the academic staff (faculty, scientific or technical personnel) of DUTH, with specialisation or experience in sustainability-related matters. The term of office of the Committee is two years. The Committee has developed a comprehensive Sustainable Development Plan which outlines the objectives, related educational and research activities, and the implementation timeline, aiming to make DUTH a reference model and an example to follow for the environmental and economic ecosystem of a modern university that is at the forefront of progress and at the heart of sustainable development.
