Depart. Social Works

The Department of Social Work was the first to offer studies in social work at a university level in Greece. The curriculum follows the standards of the International Association of Schools of Social Work and the International Federation of Social Workers. The studies are completed in four years and the program spans eight consecutive semesters. To receive a degree, participation in a two-semester internship is mandatory, which takes place every working day in social structures with at least one experienced social worker. Small groups of students participating in the internship are supervised by a social worker holding at minimum a doctoral degree.
