The emblem of Democritus University of Thrace features the head of the ancient Greek philosopher Democritus, facing left, with the university’s name inscribed below in both Greek (“ΔΗΜΟΚΡΙΤΕΙΟ ΠΑΝΕΠΙΣΤΗΜΙΟ ΘΡΑΚΗΣ”) and English (“DEMOCRITUS UNIVERSITY OF THRACE”) in uppercase letters.
The university emblem and logo may be used without prior permission in the following contexts:
(a) Official correspondence from the University, its Faculties, Departments, Divisions, other academic units and services, as well as its members.
(b) Presentations, reports, or printed materials related to the University’s educational, research, or development activities.
(c) The University’s official website and websites created by its units or affiliated structures.
(d) Communication materials such as business cards, press releases, newsletters, social media posts, etc.
(e) Building signage and other physical or digital displays of the University and its structures.
Use of the DUTH logo is also permitted:
(a) By members of the academic community for actions related to their academic role.
(b) By collaborators of the University (e.g. partners in research projects) in joint initiatives.
(c) By journalists, researchers, and third parties when referring to the University or reproducing University-related materials.
The use of the University’s name and emblem for commercial product promotion is strictly prohibited.
As per Senate decision no. 26/9/17-1-2019, the University’s trademark has been assigned to the Property Management & Development Company of DUTH for registration and commercial use.

Technical Specifications
The logo and its official colours are defined as follows:

The logo uses the Antique Olive typeface, known for its modern yet timeless character.
The DUTH logo should always be displayed in colour for digital use (e.g. on screens, websites, mobile apps).
If black-and-white reproduction is necessary (e.g. for photocopying or monochrome printing), the black-and-white version of the logo may be used.
