Democritus University of Thrace participated in the EMERGE Workshop on Lifelong Learning and Micro-Credentials at Neapolis University Pafos

From October 21 to 23, 2025, the EMERGE Alliance Workshop on Lifelong Learning and Micro-Credentials took place at Neapolis University Pafos, bringing together representatives from the nine partner universities of the Alliance.
Democritus University of Thrace (DUTH) actively participated in the sessions, contributing to the design and development of innovative practices for adult education and inclusive learning.

During the three-day workshop, participants exchanged experiences and best practices on designing flexible learning opportunities and developed draft pilot courses with micro-credentials, based on principles of inclusion and pedagogical innovation.

The workshop concluded with the open event Beyond the Alliance: Micro-credentials – Best Practices from Around the World”, where international experts presented case studies from Australia, the ECIU Alliance, and the Irish MicroCreds initiative, enriching the dialogue on the recognition and accreditation of micro-credentials across Europe.

DUTH’s participation in the workshop highlighted its role as an active partner of the EMERGE Alliance, promoting flexible, high-quality, and inclusive lifelong learning at the European level.
