EIT Food

Democritus University of Thrace (DUTH) coordinates the EIT Food Country Representative Greece which is implemented in collaboration with Mantis Beyond Innovation, for the period 2026–2028, and is a member of the EIT Community Hub in Greece, ensuring the effective alignment of national activities with EIT Food's strategic priorities. Its objective is to connect Greece's national agrifood ecosystem with EIT Food's ecosystem, activities and opportunities, supported by the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT).

Our mission is to strengthen Greece's participation in the EIT Food community by bringing together academia, research, business and entrepreneurship. We facilitate access to EIT Food programmes, funding opportunities, education and innovation activities, enabling Greek stakeholders to engage with one of Europe's leading agrifood innovation communities.

Working closely with researchers, startups, companies, students, public authorities and other ecosystem actors, we foster collaboration, encourage knowledge exchange, strengthen links with the wider European innovation ecosystem and support the development of innovative solutions that contribute to a more competitive, resilient and sustainable agrifood sector in Greece.
