The Department of Primary Education has as its primary aim to advance education for all, in particular in its primary level, as well as excellence in education and in the related areas of professional training and research. Towards this direction, the Department aims at: a) the provision of high quality teaching and learning experience, based on research and connected with professional practice and b) research activation on a national and international level. Nowadays, the Department  supports more than 1,300 undergraduate and graduate students, most of whom pursue their career as educators and/or researchers in Greece and abroad and carry out outstanding research in vital sectors of education.
