The Department of Chemistry joined the Democritus University of Thrace according to art. 5 of Law 5094/2024 

It is a high-ranking Department, difficult and demanding, equal and equal to the rest of the Chemistry Departments in our country, with full professional rights, with excellent teachers, with state-of-the-art equipment and with interesting educational innovations.
